Beverley Leisure Centre Sees Usage Increase Following Investment

Users of the Beverley Leisure Centre have increased according to figures released by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Since the completion of a £ 1. 2M project that included a redevelopment of the along with other areas of the centre memberships, and those attending fitness classes have increased.

At there has been an increase of 29% in the number of people using the Tone Zone and taking part in fitness classes, while there is an overall increase of 29% in gym memberships.

Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for civic wellbeing and culture, commented:

“I am delighted to see the huge success of this superb facility, which has emerged after refurbishments as much more than simply a Leisure Centre.”

“East Riding Leisure Beverley plays a significant part in the health and wellbeing of our residents, and is going from strength to strength.”

“It is very pleasing to report that the council could invest in this facility, to bring about the excellent results we are now seeing for the users.”

In all 735, new members signed up to East Riding Leisure Beverley since the refit.

Boasting the latest Matrix equipment with features such as Virtual Active software, which gives users a choice of location to run or cycle through, from Hollywood streets to tracks around the Grand Canyon.

The previous gym has been converted into a dedicated fitness area for Les Mills Body Pump, Body Step and kettlebell classes.

East Riding Leisure Beverley also offers a popular Café Vibe, a pool, room hire and a wide range of activities, many of which can now be booked online with a unique new booking system.
