It is one of the most eagerly-anticipated events on the East Yorkshire calendar and this year The Beverley Festival of Christmas will celebrate its 20th year of running.

Last year, an estimated 60,000 visitors’ experienced the festival, which is located in the heart of the historic town centre of Beverley, the perfect location for stalls, seasonal decorations and a huge variety of street entertainment.

Stall space has been fully booked since October, with the festival again offering a wide selection of stalls selling a mixture of colourful crafts, festive gifts and specialty seasonal foods all in a classic Victorian Christmas market setting.

The event will take place again on Sunday, 13 December, from 10am-4pm, starting with the reindeer parade from .

The traditional Victorian Christmas market stalls will be situated in Wednesday Market and , with town activities and entertainment in between.

Councillor , cabinet portfolio holder for economic investment and tourism at , said: “Beverley is a very special place and Christmas is a very special time. I think that is why this festival is so popular and keeps growing every year.

“Visitors to the town will be spoilt for choice and will also be able to soak up the merry atmosphere whilst visiting the many stalls available.

“With visitor numbers growing every year and acknowledgment from the Visit Hull and East Yorkshire Remarkable Tourism Award’s, the festival is a great way to get all the family into the Christmas spirit.”

A full programme for the 2015 festival will be available soon, including a list of stalls trading, a map of the stalls locations, programme times and details of the street entertainment.
