Hull Themed Art Competition With £1000 Cash Prize

Hull Themed Art Competition With £1000 Cash Prize

Young artists aged 16-18 in and East Yorkshire are invited to enter an art competition, which celebrates the merger of two accountancy practices this year. Following the rebrand, the team at cbaSadofskys are looking for entries to decorate their reception in Hull, for all visitors to see.

The competition ties in with the UK City of Culture seasons, with four categories to enter: Made in Hull, Roots & Routes, Freedom and Tell the World. Each category has a cash prize of £250 and the winning artworks will be hung side-by-side in the main reception on Wright Street.

Chris Brown, Director of cbaSadofskys says:

“At the moment the space on the reception wall is blank, awaiting the winning contributions of talented young artists. We really wanted to give young people in the area the opportunity to be rewarded for their work. The wall space in the reception is quite a large area and gives plenty of room for more than one piece of art and for this reason, we chose the Seasons for 2017 as the theme.”

“We have set a specification and guidelines which must be adhered to, to be included for entry and we plan for the winning artworks to remain on our walls for many years to come, acting as a reminder of the major change that Hull is going through.”

“We have been in touch with all of the sixth form schools and colleges in Hull and East Yorkshire and hope to receive entries from the majority. If this competition can’t be included as part of the school curriculum, we hope the cash prize will encourage students to produce an art work in their own time.”

For the entry specification including information on size and format, please email jclark@cbasadofskys.co.uk

All entries must be sent on or before Friday 13 November and include the following information: name of school, name of student, category entered and full contact information.
