Combined Choral Concert At Beverley Minster

Beverley Minster To Host Widely Acclaimed Mother and Daughter Act

More than 120 choristers from six choirs will be performing in Beverley Minster this Friday (16th October).

This mass gathering of six choirs will perform ‘Spem in Alium’ by Thomas Tallis to raise funds for music in the Minster.

The choirs from Beverley Minster, St Mary’s Beverley, Invitatione, School, Hull University and Pocklington School will share the challenge of singing Tallis’ famous 40-part anthem in a concert which will also demonstrate the new sharper and clearer tones available from the Minster’s famous 250 year old organ after a programme of additions and improvements to some of the instrument’s 4000 pipes.

Minster Musical Director Robert Poyser describes the work as: “an exciting challenge for the choirs which should be magnificent to hear.”

Tickets for the event, which begins at 7.30pm in the Minster, cost £10 each and will be available on the door.
