New Beverley Salon Aims To Cut The Price But Not The Quality

Next week, Blo Hair Studio will open their doors in Beverley with the owner of the business saying it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

Kirk Scargill who is from Brough will open the doors to his new business, which will be located on Saturday Market on Friday 25 September where he will cater for both ladies and gentleman.

Having spent the past eight years working with his mum in her Willerby based salon, Hair by Janet, Kirk is looking forward to running his own business.

Speaking to HU17.net Kirk said;

“I chose Beverley as I really like the town. The location I have got is fantastic and the offer that was put to me was too good to refuse.”

“Being based on Saturday, Market means I am right in the centre of Beverley.  My salon will have a studio feel to it with an industrial theme.”

With there already being a number of salons in Beverley Kirk feels he will be able to attract customers on price as his over heads will be far lower, he said;

“Where ever you open a business you are going to have competition. My advantage is that I have relatively small space so the savings I make in my costs I can pass on to the customers.”

“The plan is to offer what the bigger salons offer just at an affordable price.  Hairdressing has been has been the family business for over 40 years.”

“I am accomplished colourist as well as stylist and am also a fully trained in men’s classic barbering techniques, including cut-throat shaves.”

Born in East Yorkshire, he almost pursued a career in acting and enjoyed a lot of success, including appearances in TV series Heartbeat and Emmerdale.

Away from the studio, Kirk is a keen and talented footballer and a pretty good darts player too where he represents the Beaver Pub on the local darts circut.

Kirk will soon be back on the TV featuring in a new darts show 180 which will be shown on Sky.

He said;

“The night before I open I will be on Sky TV.  Gary Anderson and myself will be taking on phil ‘The Power’ Taylor for the chance to win £11,000.”

Blo Hair Studio will be based on the first floor at 67 Saturday Market, above Clubleys estate agents.

Before opening to the public Kirk will be holding a launch evening where guests will get the first chance to see the newest salon in Beverley.
