Saturday Market Remedial Works To Drainage Scheduled

has announced that remedial works will be carried out to the drainage channel in , Beverley, this month.

A council spokesperson said:

“A number of the paving stones in the drainage channel have become loose, and although much of the work required will be minor, we have decided to relay all the drainage channel, to ensure that the paving remains of the highest possible standard for years to come.”

The works will be carried out in two phases, to minimise disruption. The first phase will run from Monday to Friday 6 – 11 September, allowing the Saturday Market to take place on 12 September. The second phase will run from Sunday to Friday, 13 – 18 September, after which the site will be cleared.

The contractors for the works will be Galliford Try, who carried out the initial repaving of Saturday Market. The contractors will be funding the remedial works.

During the works, some parking bays will be closed off to ensure the safety of the workforce and create a suitable working area.

The spokesperson added:

“We apologise for any temporary inconvenience caused during these remedial works, but will ensure that any disruption is kept to an absolute minimum.”
