Record Support For Summer Fair

Adults who attend a Beverley based day centre are set to benefit from specialist music and drama workshops after their annual summer fair pulled in record support.

Hundreds of visitors passed through the doors of , on Mill Lane to attend the summer fair which raised a grand total of £1,230, which is the highest amount ever raised at the event.

Councillor , ’s portfolio holder for adult and carer services said: “Millers summer fair has always been a popular and well supported event but this has truly been a record breaking year.

“It is fantastic to see so many people showing their support for the day centre which plays such a crucial role in the local community and I would like to thank everyone involved in making the event a great success.”

Millers provide a varied time-table of activities and events for adults with learning disabilities.

John Ireland, team leader at Millers has also thanked everyone who supported the event.

He said: “The amount raised at the summer fair is unbelievable and we would like to thank everyone who came along on the day to show their support.

“It was wonderful to see so many friends as well as a lot of new faces enjoying what was a fantastic day.”

The money raised will also go towards funding specialist music and drama sessions for people who attend the day centre, as well as going towards the purchasing of new garden furniture for their roof garden.
