Beverley Thirds Slip Up Against Hull

Beverley Thirds Slip Up Against Hull

Alex Nightingale says his Beverley were simply not good enough after they were beaten by Coal Exporters.

Batting first Hull set Beverley a target of 193 to win the game but a flurry of early wickets soon ended any hopes Beverley had of winning the match.

Nightingale and were the only Beverley players who made any real impact with the bat on a day that saw the thirds slip further down the table.

Speaking after the game Nightingale said;

“Not good enough in all departments , they probably got 30 too many really. The pitch wasn’t great. However we should have chased down 193 with the batting quality in the side , to be 30 for 5 is not going to win you the game.”

“We were woeful in terms of batting. We are now 6th in the league, realistically we probably need to win every game to be in with a chance of being promoted. But we are more than capable of doing that with the players we have.”

Beverley return to action next weekend with another away fixture as they take on Sutton-On-Hull, a match they will need to win to keep their promotion hopes alive.
