The RICS Hull and East Yorkshire Local Association are hosting an event at The Deep in Hull to update local property professionals with the latest news and legislation that affects the roles of those working in the industry.
The event on 24 September also includes a visit around the tourist attraction and lunch.
Updates on three subjects will be provided at the networking and learning event; Ian Streets from About Access will discuss the Equalities Act (DDA) and update on access in the built environment – who is a disabled person?, discrimination and physical features.
Martin Sugden is the technical and operations manager at Gilsen Water. He will cover Legionella and the background of the disease, its causes, how to control it and the duties of responsible persons.
Chartered Surveyor, David Hornsby will provide a talk about historic buildings and the best ways to inspect them using examples from Beverley and the surrounding area. He will also share current research that is going on in the town which is funded by Historic England (English Heritage), recording and dating timber in an attempt to establish the age of old buildings.
Simon Delaney, Partner at Delaney Marling Partnership is a member of the Hull and East Yorkshire Association and helps to organise such events. He says:
