Beverley racer Dominic Usher travelled to Brands Hatch for the seventh round of the National Superstock 1000 championship at the weekend but it turned out to be a wasted journey as he encountered some major mechanical problems with the DU Racing BMW.
This tuned out to be terminal and Dom had no alternative to return home to watch the race on TV.
Dom said:
“I struggled to find a decent set up over Friday and Saturday, it just never happened for me. Then to top it all off the bike does a big end.”
“It was not a problem that could be resolved at the track as we just don’t have the resources so I decided to pack everything away and return home on Saturday evening.”
“More experience gained but no positive outcome from the weekend. Ah well that’s racing….on to the next round.”
The next round is at Thruxton over the weekend of July 31/ August 2 and with less than two weeks to work on the bike It will be a race against time to get the BMW up and running.
