Beverley Scouts Ready for Peak Adventure

19 Scouts and 4 Explorer Scouts from 5th (Wesley) Scout Group are preparing for a week of fun, friendship and adventure; joining 6000 other Scouts and Guides from around the world at Peak Camp 2015.

The jamboree takes place in the grounds of the beautiful Chatsworth House in Derbyshire between 25th July and 1st of August and the theme of the event is “A Journey Through Time”

The Scouts will spend their days taking part in over 65 different activities ranging from adventurous pursuits such as climbing, kayaking and mountain boarding as well as more creative activities such as African Drumming, Balloon Modelling and even Scottish Country Dancing. By night; there will be , competitions, world record attempts & a huge campfire.

Meanwhile, one Beverley Scout will be travelling further afield for the adventure of a lifetime.

Ged Killen: who is a Patrol Leader in the 5th Beverley (Wesley) Troop: is travelling to Japan with tens of thousands of other Scouts from almost every country in the world to take part in the 23rd World Scout Jamboree.

Scouting offers fun and friendship, challenge and everyday adventure to 400,000 girls and boys across the UK. We have a positive impact on young people, our 100,000 adult volunteers and the communities in which we live.

Offering over 200 different activities from abseiling and archery to drama, street sports and water zorbing, Scouting helps 6-25 year olds grow in confidence, achieve their full potential and become active members of their communities.
