Beverley Building Society Charity of the Month Won By OSPREY

Lesley Wegg, the Building Society’s new Head of Operations was pleased to present this month’s donation of £250 to another deserving charity.

Debra Sutton on behalf of OSPREY said:

“I am so excited Beverley Building Society chose OSPREY to be one of their three Charity choices for the month for April.”

“We are a small charity with a committee of unpaid volunteers who arrange Fundraising Events throughout the year to raise much needed money for equipment such as Bone Scanners for our Unit at the Brocklehurst Centre, next to the Infirmary on Anlaby Road in Hull.”

“Funds are also raised towards Research at Hull University into Osteoporosis, which affects 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men, leaving people with brittle bones. All the money we raise stays in Hull and The East Riding, providing help and treatment for our area.”

“OSPREY was founded in 1992 by my mother the late Sheila Chetham, a truly remarkable woman, with the intention of raising money to fund research into this deadly disease, thus benefiting the local area.”

“Over the last 23 years we have raised in the region of £1.5 million and every penny has remained in East Yorkshire.”

“Thank you so much Beverley Building Society and your Customers for choosing OSPREY.”

Lesley Wegg commented;

“I am delighted that we been able to support OSPREY, our winning charity this month, as chosen by our members.”

“Beverley Building Society takes pride in supporting locally nominated charities as part of our commitment to the Beverley and East Yorkshire community.”
