Beverley Estate Agents Donate Clothes For Nepal Earthquake Appeal

Northwood, a leading estate and letting agency based in Beverley, are urging people to donate any unwanted items of clothing in a bid to raise awareness and funds for the Nepal Earthquake Appeal.

The 7.8-magnitude earthquake, which struck on April 25th, is known to have killed more than 7,500 people with more than 14,500 injured. Over 3 million people across earthquake-hit areas are in need of food aid, 130,000 houses have been destroyed and there are now concerns that a serious outbreak of disease may hit affected areas.

In a bid to raise needed funds, The Red Cross have launched the Red Cross Nepal Shop Drop to encourage the UK public to donate any unwanted goods and clothing to Red Cross Stores.

Joanne Boulter, Director at Northwood Beverley, said;

“The situation in Nepal is very desperate and will require an enormous amount of money to rebuild. The money raised will go a long way in providing much needed relief such as providing food, water and medicine to those affected.”

“At Northwood, every day we take great pride in finding people their new home, so when we heard that so many people in Nepal have been left homeless after seeing their homes destroyed, we knew we needed to do something to help.”

“We are asking everyone who has any unwanted items of clothing hanging in their wardrobes to kindly donate these to our Nepal Earthquake Appeal.”

Donated items can be brought into Northwood’s Beverley office located at 32 North Bar Within, Beverley, throughout the month of May and placed into a donation box. Staff will then deliver the donations to the Red Cross requesting that all money raised is donated in support of this appeal.

Northwood’s Beverley office is open between 9:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, and between 10am and 1pm on Saturday.
