A quiz to help raise money for a local Dog rescue centre will be held at the Royal Standard on Thursday 7 May.
Newly refurbished the pub at North Bar Within will raise money to support Jerry Green Dog Rescue Centre based in Gilberdyke.
Landlord Allen Slinger recently rehomed a dog from the centre and is keen to help out, he said;
“I got my Labrador Mac from the centre just over a month ago and I am more than happy to support the great work they do.”
“We are a dog friendly pub and would welcome all dog lovers to come and take part in the quiz.”
“We do have some dog owners who visit us with their dogs quite regular and it’s something I would like to see more of.”
The pub which has just undergone a major refurbishment will be holding quiz nights on the last Thursday of every month, each time supporting the pubs designated charity of the month.
The quiz starts at 8.30pm, £1 per person entry.
