Wanted: Yorkshire Folk To Raise Buckets Of Money For The British Red Cross

Buckets – you thought they were only good for catching a leak or washing your car. But in fact buckets can change lives and save lives.

are seeking charitable Yorkshire folk to smile and shake a bucket supermarkets, town centres and rugby league grounds for their annual ‘Red Cross Week’.

There are over 100 collections in every corner of Yorkshire planned in and around Red Cross Week which this year runs from 2 to 10 May.

With a wide range of stores across the region taking part, it is just a case of finding the store most local to you. Individual collectors are welcome or why not get your local sports team, Brownie pack or community group involved? With that vibrant team spirit you will be amazed at what you can achieve!

Max Newton, Senior Community Fundraiser for Yorkshire gives an idea as to the impact of local bucket collections:

“All money raised will help people affected by crises and disasters both right here in Yorkshire and across the world. From house fires, floods and severe winter weather to earthquakes and drought, the Red Cross will be there to help people recover from major events that can destroy lives and whole communities.

“Every hour of collecting is actively helping those in need, so any time you can spare will be very much appreciated.”

So there you have it. With bright red bucket in hand and a bunch of friends in tow you can feel a real sense of the unrivalled community spirit in Yorkshire. Knowing that you are making a real difference to your neighbours both here in Yorkshire and in countries overseas will provide a sense of achievement.

So get in touch, get a team together and have fun raising money for the British Red Cross in a collection your doorstep.
