Beverley Manor Nursery School Described As Outstanding Again By Ofsted

Beverley Manor Nursery School is celebrating after being described as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for an amazing sixth time in a row.

Ofsted inspectors say the headteacher’s strong leadership and the high quality of teaching have led to ‘outstanding’ achievement for all its children. They have ranked the school as ‘outstanding’ in all areas.

Their report says the school provides a warm welcome to children and their families, that the dedicated staff work together extremely well, and children are well prepared for the next stage in their education.

The children’s behaviour is described as ‘exemplary’ and the report says they enjoy their time in the nursery. Parents and carers support the school strongly and governors also provide effective support.

Leaders and managers are said to be continually making improvements, and an effective collaboration with Hedon Nursery School has helped to maintain and improve the excellent practice seen in previous inspections.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is also praised for providing ‘effective, light-touch support for this outstanding school.’

Executive headteacher Karen Hunter said she is delighted with the report. She said the lead inspector had praised the school’s relationships with parents and the community, and had been very impressed with the children and their levels of concentration.

“We are all very proud of our children, their behaviour was impeccable during the inspection and the inspector enjoyed playing alongside and talking with them, she said.

“This is the sixth ‘outstanding’ judgement in a row that the school has received – a fabulous achievement! It was even more significant this year because Ofsted has ‘raised the bar’ considerably since the last inspection in March 2012, making it even more difficult to achieve the ‘outstanding’ category.”

Mike Furbank, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s head of children and young people, education and schools, said:

“We are delighted that the school has once again, despite rising bars and changing inspection frameworks, shown that it produces outstanding outcomes for some of our youngest learners.”

“This is a result of real hard work since the last inspection. My warmest congratulations to all staff, parents and children involved in the school.”
