GTA Band : Certainly One To Listen Out For in Beverley

GTA Band a group from Hull have been getting the shoppers in the in Beverley bopping with their upbeat music.

The group that is made up of Jordan Van Beem, Pete Clarkson, Darren Clarkson, Conor Maher and Jonny Brand play what they describe as an Eclectic Acoustic Pop style.

Jordan says his group are quite well known for having ‘wacky names’ and that although they are Hull their style seems to go down better in Beverley, he told HU17.net;

“Busking tends to go a bit better in Beverley. The people in Beverley is always really kind to us . As for our name, well we are notorious for using quite wacky names. Previous projects include Frisky Biscuit and Shatner’s Bassoon.”

Jordan added;

“People are always really receptive of what we do. Most of our repertoire is songs people will have heard on the radio anyway and people always take really kindly to our renditions.”

While the group can be seen on the streets performing they are not regulars on the local music scene.

To date they have not explored the possibility of taking part at the Beverley Folk Festival though they will be performing in a local pub later this month.

Jordan said;

“Most of the shows we play are weddings, functions and birthday parties. But people of Beverley will be able to catch us at the Eager Beaver on the 10th of April at 8:30pm”
