Labour Action Gets Results From ERYC

has been forced to act after Labour activists followed up complaints from local residents about the condition of the road where they live.

Jack Taylor Lane in has been falling into a state of disrepair over a long period despite the complaints of residents.

Local Labour candidates George McManus and Jacky Heffer heard these concerns during their doorstep campaign and took the problem up with ERYC highways department. As a result the road has now been resurfaced and brought up to a more acceptable standard.

Jackie Heffer, who is standing for Labour in the Beverley Town Council elections said:

“Those of us who live in this area have been aware of the state of Jack Taylor Lane for a long time. I am pleased to see that our complaints have finally been heard.”

George McManus, one of Labour’s three candidates for East Riding Council in Minster and Woodmansey, welcomed the result.

“This may seem like a small victory, but it shows that Labour listens to local & gets things done. We know that a small matter for ERYC is often a big issue for residents who pay their council tax and deserve to receive the service they expect.”

Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate, Margaret Pinder, acknowledged the importance of listening to local people.

“We have been pursuing an active campaign on the doorstep since last summer and we have been hearing lots of complaints like this. This shows that Labour delivers for local people.”
