Beverley Man Jailed For 12 Weeks Following Pub Brawl

18 year-old Jordan Paul Catterick of Greenwood Avenue in Beverley was remanded into custody for an assault of a 25 year-old Beverley man in the Grapes public house on Sunday 1 February 2015.

In addition to his prison term Catterick has been issued with a two year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which expires on 12 March 2017.

The CBO was issued to Catterick following a number of incidents from 2013 to 2015 of Anti-social behaviour, assault, using fowl and abusive language toward police officers and criminal damage.

The order states that Catterick must not:

1. Act or encourage others to act in any anti-social manner, that is to say a manner that causes, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to others, including any behaviour that is threatening, abusive or disruptive, anywhere in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

2. Throw or kick any object at any person, animal, vehicle or building in any public place within the boundaries of the or Molescroft Parish, except when taking part in any ball game or sporting activity at a properly designated sports facility or public park.

3. Remain in a group of two or more persons in any public place within the boundaries of the Beverley Town Council or Molescroft Parish, where the group or any individuals within the group causes harassment, alarm or distress to any other person.

Inspector Jane Kirk of Beverley stated, “I am very pleased with the strength of the prison term and the CBO. This shows that by working with our partners at the East Riding of Yorkshire Council that we can bring these offenders to justice.

“This sentence should act as a deterrent to other young people who commit Anti-social behaviour in the East Riding.”

If, on release from prison, Catterick is found in breach of this CBO he may be committing an offence and could result in him being detained.

Anyone who sees Catterick in breach of this CBO should contact on the non-emergency number 101
