GALLERY : Solar Eclipse Over Beverley

For the first time since 1999 the UK enjoyed a solar eclipse and many people took the opportunity to watch the spectacle from the Beverley Westwood.

Photographers and members of the public were at the Blackmill to capture and watch as the moon passed in front of the sun.

As the eclipse reached its peak there was a noticeable change in the temperature as the heat from the sun was blocked by the moon.

Although Beverley was not plunged into total darkness it certainly got a bit darker.
