Bishop Burton College’s Diamond Jubilee Lambing Sunday

Bishop Burton College’s Diamond Jubilee Lambing Sunday

On Sunday 15th March, the campus will once again be opening its doors to visitors, in order to give the public the opportunity to see the College’s ewes and their new-born lambs up close.

has become one of the most enjoyable family events in the College’s calendar; with visitors having the chance to watch lambs being born, taking their first few steps and bonding with their mothers, as well as learning about lambing from the team on the working farm.

As well as the ewes and lambs, there will also be a number of other activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a show jumping competition, dressage to music, a display of tractors and farm machinery and tours of the indoor and outdoor animal management units – where visitors will get the chance to meet some of the College’s more exotic residents including snakes, reptiles, meerkats and wallabies.

Children will have the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes in our Lambing Sunday colouring competitions and treasure hunt!

And if all that fresh air helps you work up an appetite, our food outlets will be open across campus, offering a range of lunch and snack options all day.

Alternatively, celebrate mother’s day by treating your family to a delicious 2-course lunch (including wine, petit fours and coffee!), available for just £16.00 for adults – and even less for mums and grandmas – and £9.00 for children.

Reservations can be made online at www.shop.bishopburton.ac.uk.

Gates are open from 11am to 3pm. A free park and ride service will be running from racecourse from 11am, with the last bus leaving Bishop Burton College at 3.15pm. There will also be free buses from Hull and Beverley station throughout the day (see timetable below).

Tickets are available at just £6 for adults; £4 for children under 16 or a family ticket can be purchased for 2 adults and 2 children for just £18. Entry for under 3s is free.
