Beverley Town Come From Behind To Earn A Point At Norwood

Beverley Town FC shared the spoils as they were held at home by Pocklington Town in the Humber Premier League.

A poor first half from the champions saw the home side go into the break behind. Ryder Smith however came up with the all important equaliser early in the second period as Beverley battle back for a point at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Speaking after the game gaffer Ross Cording said;

“We got the first half completely wrong, we kept giving the ball away. At the break we had words and the team were much better in the second half.”

“Overall on the balance of play I felt we done enough to win the game but given the circumstances today and lack of players due to a host of reasons I am happy we got some sort of result.”

“There were plenty of positives in the second half, the lads got the ball on the deck and played some nice football. We also closed down Pocklington much better in the second period.”

“My new assistant coach Chris Rhodes had big influence today with his tactical knowledge.”

Cording was very short of bodies for the game, players were away representing other sides leaving him with just one substitute.

Off the pitch Beverley Town’s manager also took the opportunity to thank Rob and Sandra from the Moulders Arms. The couple have provided a set of jackets for the back room staff, Ross said;

“On behalf of everyone at the club I would like to thank them both personally for jackets, we are all very grateful.”

Beverley Town return to Humber Premier League action next weekend when they take on Hedon Rangers.
