East Riding College Tesco Bag Pack Raises £357 For Teenage Cancer Trust

Tesco were pleased to welcome students from East Riding College to bag pack in our store on Saturday 23rd January.

A group of students who are studying business at the Beverley campus, have been raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust since September 2014 and all the money from the bag pack will be going to the charity.

The students have already raised £68 from a Bake Sale at college and have several other fundraising events planned, including a wine tasting event which is to be held at East Riding College on 24th April 2015. To date they have raised in excess of £400.

Ellen Smuts, Business Lecturer at the college said;

“Thanks to the generosity of Tesco’s customers, we managed to raise a fantastic £357 and also hopefully we have raised awareness for our charity Teenage Cancer Trust.”

“We believe is a very worthwhile charity and anything that our students can do to help other young adults who are not as fortunate as themselves must be a good thing.”
