Defibrillators No Substitute For a Properly Resourced Ambulance Service - Margret Pinder

, Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary candidate for Beverley & Holderness says the current state of health services in the area are unacceptable.

In statement released,  the Former Mayor of Beverley who will be standing for election in May she said;

“The day after local rugby player, Adam Robson, was forced to wait two hours for an ambulance and then a further two hours in the same ambulance outside the accident and emergency unit at before being admitted, A&Es in England have recorded their worst performance for a decade, with one in 10 patients waiting for four hours.”

“Among these is which has been forced to declare a ‘major incident’. This means that the hospital is full and operations are being cancelled.”

“Since lost its A&E services, the only A&E on the East coast between Hull and is Scarborough. With the major incident status here and the unacceptable delays experienced by Mr Robson at Hull, we are seeing a health service driven into serious crisis under the Coalition’s cuts.

“I look forward with much interest, but little optimism to the upcoming review of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service by the Care Quality Commission later this month. The rural areas of Holderness  have long been experiencing significant problems with response times and urgent action is needed to address this.”

“Our local MP, Graham Stuart’s, much-publicised campaign for defibrillators in our villages can be no substitute for a properly resourced and effective ambulance and emergency service for these and all our communities.”
