Beavers Welcome Back Sam Atiola For Trip To Wirral

Beverley RUFC make the trip out west this week to Wirral in a must-win match that could lift off the bottom of the table.

A gutsy display against high-flying Waterloo on the weekend has restored some much-needed confidence for the Beverley players but Director of Rugby, Junior Tupai is not taking anything for granted this week;

“We showed some character last week against a very good Waterloo side. We were down 31-3 just after half time and to come back to make it 31-29 showed that we can trouble some decent teams.”

“However, that doesn’t take away the fact that they still put 50 points on us at home so we need to work on our defensive if we are to win our second game.”

Wirral also seems to be struggling with injuries having only picked up one win but achieved more bonus points than Beverley. Tupai continued;

“We’re under no illusions about the importance of this game for both teams. They maybe be struggling but we’re not paying too much into that. Like us, they’ll be desperate, and they’ll be at home. ”

“They’ve come up from North West One so will still be a handy side, and we need to make sure we meet and/ or better their enthusiasm and desperation.”

Beverley can roll out some hefty artillery this week with the return of , who has been Beverley’s form back this season and promising 2nd rower, Stu Nel both from injury. However, their return is off set with the unavailability of due to work commitments and with a neck injury.
