Coletta & Tyson Provides East Riding Food Suppliers With Early Christmas Cheer

Coletta & Tyson Garden Centre is preparing for one of its busiest times of the year by reinforcing its commitment to supporting food and drink suppliers in the region.

The centre, which is based in Woodmansey, near Beverley, has a rich in the East Riding’s food industry having originally started out as a fruit and veg stall selling fresh, locally-grown produce.

Now, as it prepares for the period, the centre is once again backing fellow businesses in the region by sourcing all of the ingredients used in its newly refurbished Oasis Café.

Whether it is turkey, pork, parsnips or mine pies, there will be something sourced from the East Riding on every meal served.

John Tyson, of Coletta & Tyson, said: “The majority of our products are already based on ingredients sourced from suppliers in our region. However, we are delighted to say that we have been able to source all of the ingredients needed for our Christmas menu this year from businesses on our doorstep.

“We are always looking for ways in which to support the local supply chain and give something back to the area that has supported us as we have grown as a business.”

“The Christmas period is usually one of our busiest at the centre and we are really looking forward to another busy couple of months. Since the refurbishment of our café, we have seen numbers of visitors using the facility increasing and I’m confident that trend will continue in the run up to Christmas.”

The Oasis Café reopened earlier this year following an extensive refurbishment. However, it is not only the café that John has high hopes for this Christmas.

Over the last few weeks the centre has been transformed ahead of the Christmas period to showcase the range of products it offers. The centre will once again be selling locally-grown real Christmas trees as well as continuing to support some of the region’s charities throughout November and December.

John said:

“Christmas is a time when our centre really comes alive and the atmosphere in the run up to December 25 is fantastic. We have a brilliant range of events planned that have proved very popular over recent years and we have added a few more surprises along the way.”
