Beavers Face Tough Test With Visit Of Billingham

When the fixture list came out Beverley RUFC would’ve happily taken these next few weeks of comfort in their own backyard with two home games. But looking at how inconsistent their form has been and the strength of the teams coming to Beaver Park there will be some alarm bells.

Billingham arrive this week with a potent backline who put Beverley to the sword at their place last year. Peter Evans & Chris Hyndman will pose a massive threat to Beverley on attack.

Director of Rugby, said;

“They have a lot of pace throughout their backline. Their pack are solid & quick around the park but it’s the key players of Evans & Hyndman who are pretty classy who give them a lot of direction. We’ll need to be defensively sound this week outside to stop them from running riot.”

Hyndman has played at Northampton Saints & brings a wealth of experience to Beaver Park.

Tupai continued;

“Chris & I have had a good few battles over the last few years. He’s important for them. He’s got the experience behind him having played 80 odd games for Northampton so it will be good to see him run out again. He was out all last season with a knee injury but he’s one of the best in the league in his position.”

Beverley look to shake off last weeks slow start and get things back on track with the possibility of a few players coming back from injury & unavailabilities last week.

, Martin Shaw and Antony Maka, Iain Morrison could return to the match day squad. The injury list is shortening by the week and Beverley could welcome back crowd favourite who has been away with work and could also feature. He would add much needed pace out wide which has been lacking in recent weeks.

Beverley will select from: J Fell, K Renwick, A Ogilvie, M Adams, B Watson, D Brant, L Starbuck, D Wogga, J Gill, J Tupai, A Smith, S Atiola, I Morrison, B Revell- Jones, R Bussey, J Bunn, L De Silva, M Shaw, A Campbell, M Shaw
