Yeomanry Display At The Treasure House

Treasure House

A mini version of a popular exhibition has now been set up at the Treasure House in Beverley. The display, which can be found in the Museum on the first floor of the Beverley Treasure House, builds on the success of the recent “Cavalry, Camels and Camaraderie” exhibition, which ran from July to September this year.

The mini display will run until the end of January next year.

Dr. , East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s museums registrar said:

“We had a very big response in terms of visitor comments and fresh items being brought in during the Camels exhibition, and we wanted to create a smaller version which could stay up for the rest of this year, to provide a learning resource for visiting schools.”

Alongside the display, Dr. Marchant is continuing to research the men of the regiment in order to create a database of men who served in the ERY up to the end of the First World War and is collecting images of and information about individual soldiers, as well as images of them. He aims to publish a series of articles alongside the database in two to three years’ time.
