Local Charity Among First To Use New Text Message Donation Service

N.U.R.S.E. Charity will be among the first charities in the country to use its own, unique personalised text code, NCUK14 to raise funds using JustTextGiving by Vodafone.

N.U.R.S.E. Charity (Needed Urgent Remedial Surgical Equipment) consists of five committee members, who, in their spare time, help raise money through a programme of fundraising events held throughout the year, including an annual dart’s competition and Raft Race on the Beverley Beck.

As of this week, supporters of the N.U.R.S.E. Charity can make donations of up to £10 by texting NCUK14 and either 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 to 70070 to make their donation. The text message is free, and all of the donation will be passed to The N.U.R.S.E. Charity.

Peter Watson of the N.U.R.S.E. Charity said:

“This is a wonderful way for us to raise money as it’s speedy, simple and spontaneous. Most people have a mobile phone these days, so we expect this to be very popular with our supporters.”

This is a brand new, free service for charities, that has no set up or fundraising costs for charities, no network charges for people making donations and every penny donated goes to charity. Anyone making a donating to N.U.R.S.E. will also have the option to add Gift Aid to their pledge.
