Speaking ahead of the game Welburn told ;

“Brandesburton will be tough. It’s a small ground so bowlers really need to be on the money.”

Last time the teams met was at Norwood, and it was skipper himself who was the star of the show taking six wickets as Beverley, including a hat trick.

At the time, Welburn commented;

“Getting six wickets myself and especially the hat trick was a special moment, but it was about the team of Saturday and getting the win.”

His side has been consistent all season and are challenging at the right end of the table. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed by the skipper, he said;

“We’ve done fantastically this year for a third team that is in a league with six first teams from their clubs.”

“Those results allow us to give opportunities to some of the younger players.”

“Tommy Hudson did a top-notch job last week at the top of the order, and hopefully he can do just as well, this week.”

Sitting in third place a good positive result for Beverley will certainly put pressure on the clubs above them.

Judging by past results between the sides, there is no question Welburn will be quietly confident his side can do the job.
