Beverley Fire Station Open Day Will Be Bigger and Better Say Organisers

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service based at Beverley Fire Station are promising a bigger and better event for their annual open day.

Beverley Fire station will open its doors to the public on Saturday 23rd August with organisers of the event promising the public a day to remember.

Crew Manager at Beverley Station Shaun Harrison said;

“Once again we have added more vehicles and things to do for people and are confident that this year will be even bigger and even better than previous years.”

“There will be plenty to do for all the family, we have lots of vehicles on display, including a military vehicle supplied by the Defence school of Transport, the I-Car and also a rescue boat.”

“Throughout the day the team here at Beverley will be putting on displays showing how Humberside Fire & Rescue work in real-life situations.”

Visitors will get to see the spectacular Exploding Aerosol Can, Chip Pan Fire Display’s and Casualty Simulation drills.

Shaun added;

“Children will have the chance to get inside the appliances during the day and see first-hand some of the equipment used.”

Other activities on the day include a BBQ, Bouncy Castle, Face Painting with plenty of refreshments on hand thanks to the cake stall, which can all be washed down with tea or Coffee.

Fellow fire-fighters from the Beverley’s twin Town Lemgo will also be at the open day along with their New Appliance. They will also have a stall on the day selling Dream Shakers & Authentic Bratwurst.

Another favourite is back for the 2014 open day, Soak the Fireman will again give members of the public the opportunity to throw wet sponges at the station’s crew manager along with any offer members of the team!

The all-day event will be officially opened by the deputy Mayor of Beverley at midday and will run through until 4.30pm
