Police Appeal After Elderly Lady is Killed On A1079

Humberside Police

are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that happened at around 1415hrs on Tuesday 15th July 2014 on the A1079 by-pass near to the Swifts site roundabout.

A blue coloured Range Rover Sport car was being driven towards Hull when it was in collision with three other cars (a green coloured Suzuki Liana, a green coloured Ford Fiesta and a black coloured Landrover Discovery) all traveling in the opposite direction towards Beverley.

A 75-year-old woman, a passenger in the Suzuki Liana, sustained serious injuries and was taken to , but died from her injuries in the early hours of this morning.

A 77-year-old man, the driver of the Suzuki Liana, sustained serious injuries and has taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A 60-year old woman, the driver of the Range Rover Sport, sustained broken ribs and has taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A 35-year-old woman, the driver of the Ford Fiesta, sustained a minor injury to her thumb.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the blue Range Rover being driven prior to the collision are urged to contact the police on 101 quoting log 374 15/07/2014.
