Playing at the Hull Wyke beat the Braves 10 – 6 thanks to tries from brothers Richie and Dave Litten.

Speaking to HU17.net after the Clark said;

“This was a very good game all round, there were superb performances by our defence and also our attacking play was very good.”

“Having played the Braves earlier in the season and losing to them we knew this would be tough game and I am very proud of the lads who dug deep and put in 100% to get the result.”

Hull Wyke looked like they may run away with the game after going 10 – 0 up with as the Litten brothers each crossed the line. George Carter managed to convert one of the kicks putting the visitors into a commanding position.

All was not lost for the Blue & Golds when Joe McCabe crossed the line to score for the home side, his try was converted by Owen Miller to bring them to within one score of Wyke.

Beverley Braves coach Neil Gay told HU17.net;

“You can’t take anything away from Hull Wyke, the better side won on the day. Overall this was a great game of rugby played in the right spirit by both teams.”

“It is not possible to win every game and sometimes in sport it is about losing the right way and I feel we done that.”

“When they came of the pitch they had nothing left to give, the Braves pushed them really hard and the lads gave everything in order to secure the win.”

“Jack Seffen deserves a mention after taking a knock he played on until he was asked to leave the field of play and sent to the blood bin.”

The Beverley Braves return to action in a couple of weeks time when they face West Hull in the semi final of the cup.

Gay knows how big the match and although his side will go into the game as massive underdogs he is confident they will not just roll over but will do their best against might West’s.
