Wolves Come From Behind To Draw With Rovers At KC Lightstream Stadium

U16s ensured that Rovers did not end the week with three defeats as a club after drawing 2-22 with Warrington Wolves at the Stadium.

Rovers U16s saw no less than three players from the , , Harry Ingham and Dylan Clifford all featured in the Rovers starting line up.

A delayed kick off did little to unsettle either side both of which went into the game with unbeaten records to protect.

Beverley Braves Joe Wardill open the scoring for the homes side early on in the first half setting the tempo for what was to be a tough encounter between two sets of players with aspirations of being professional rugby league players.

Wardill’s opening try was cancelled out by the Wolves Garaint Lawrence and with the Wolves missing their kick the scores were tied at 4-4.

It was another Braves player who restored and extended the lead for Rovers as Harry Inman scored twice with Wardill converting both kicks to give Rovers a commanding 16-4 lead at half time.

After much soul searching by the Wolves the second half got off to the worst possible start when they gifted Rovers Matty Norman a try, again the kick was converted by Wardill making the score 22-4.

Warrington however showed their desire of never giving up and responded well as Reece Brunt, Cory Bennie and Danny Norman scored three tries all of which were converted as the game finished all square 22-22.

Next up for Rovers young guns is St Helens who visit the KC Lightstream Stadium on July 5th.

Final Score: Hull Kingston Rovers U16s 22 Warrington Wolves U16s 22
