Walkington Primary School Short Listed In Power Boat Naming Competition

The Safe and Connected naming competition has found the winning name for 2014.

The boat will be at The Deep for the grand unveiling on Monday 9th June where the drivers will meet the winning primary school.

The shortlisted schools are Walkington Primary from the East Riding of Yorkshire, Stockwell Primary from Hull and Healing Primary from North East Lincolnshire.

Esther Damary-Thompson from Hull Speed Ahead says:

“Quickline is one of the major sponsors of Hull’s power boat. The company along with their schools’ e-safety solution, Safe and Connected opened the competition to all primary schools in the Humber Region to bring both banks of the Humber together.”

“The festivities last year brought thousands of into the City to celebrate this great occasion and we hope to this year attract even more visitors from outside of the City.”

As part of the pre-event promotions, Hull’s P1 Powerboat No.17 will visit the winning school and the winning entrant will receive VIP tickets to the race on 21st June.
