United End Treble Winning Season Season In Style

Yellows completed another unbeaten season with 25 wins and a draw as they completed their East Riding Girls League season that has seen them win a treble.

Their last game of the season resulted in a one nil victory against after a brilliant second half finish from the leagues top scorer Marie Russell after a fine through ball from midfielder Morgan Nagee. Russell was scoring her 44 goal of the season to give the Yellows victory and extend their unbeaten record since their last defeat in October 2011.

The game itself was played in humid conditions and was very similar to the cup final that the Yellows also won one nil. Mill Lane United dominated from the 1st to the 80th minutes creating chances and playing the better football against a team who played route one football, which was easily dealt with by the Mill Lane defence.

At the other end, the Yellows created a host of chances that with better finishing would have given a fairer reflection of their dominance. Overall, a good performance from the Yellows with the desire and commitment back as they never gave their opponents a glimmer of hope in a totally dominant performance. With the local league and cup games completed, Mill Lane can look forward to their summer tournaments as they look to defend the national title they won at Aces, Leicester last season.

Man of the matches went to goal scorer Marie Russell and Morgan Nagee for defusing countless long balls during the game.
