They got on level terms moments later. Ben Calvert was held up over the line, but a quick play the ball 10 meters out saw the ball shipped quickly to the left where Will Mail dived over wide out. Watkin added the difficult touchline conversion.

Lambwath regained the lead just before the break courtesy of a converted try to leave them 12-6 up.

The second half saw Beverley threaten much more. A mazy run by Ryan Watkin saw him beat a number of defenders, but the final pass went to ground. Shortly after Beverley made no mistake to get on level terms. A clever break out of dummy half from Gavin Proctor saw him get a pass away to Sam Coleman, who did well to score besides th posts with defenders swarming around him. Watkin converted.

Both sides then went toe to toe until Lambwath took the lead with a converted score 15 minutes from time. They gave themselves an 8 point cushion when they tacked on a penalty goal as Beverley were somewhat harshly penalised for interference at the play the ball.

Beverley still had plenty in the tank. With 5 minutes to go Ryan Watkin danced through defenders to score from close range and convert his own try. A grandstand finish was set up with Beverley throwing everything they had at the opposition but to no avail. With the 2013/14 now complete coach, Guy Adams has decided to stand down mainly due to work pressures. Chairman Graham Ostler commented

“We would like to thank Guy for all he has done. He took on the job when we were at rock bottom two years ago and has restored respectability and there is now a much more vibrant atmosphere around the club”

This leaves the head coach position vacant to which the club is seeking applications. Beverley ARLFC remains ambitious. The junior section the braves continues to grow, and the club hopes to reap the rewards from this in future years.
