Rising Folk Stars Bring A Classical Twist To Beverley

Nashville’s ‘Best Local Band’ will entertain fans of quality in Beverley on 15th May.

The classically trained women of Harpeth Rising have recently been voted ‘Best Local Band in Nashville’ by the Tennessean, bringing an exciting and distinctively new sound to the folk genre on violin, banjo, cello, foot percussion, and powerful, three-part vocals.

They are performing their latest album, ‘Tales from Jackson Bridge’ at Beverley Folk & Bluegrass Club in the Room of the Beverley Arms Hotel.

The new release remains true to Harpeth Rising’s folk, bluegrass, and classical roots throughout, while it expands on their blues and rock influences and adds in some new flavors such as Texas Swing and Gypsy Jazz.

The album has already reached No. 6 on the Folk DJ Charts and No. 15 on the EuroAmericana Charts. Harpeth Rising’s previous UK performances have included The Cambridge Folk Festival, The Green Note in London, The Purbeck Folk Festival, The Frome Festival, and The Fylde Folk Festival.

Harpeth Rising’s performance starts at 7.30pm, tickets are £10, and more information is available by ringing 01482 864979 or visiting folk@harmony.karoo.co.uk.

Advance tickets are available at the Beverley Centre (Butcher Row, Beverley) or www.ticketssource.co.uk/date/95405. All the profits from ticket sales will be donated to Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
