MP Says Blossom Family Children’s Centre Is A Brilliant Facility

Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness has today visited the Children’s Community Centre and Club at Regal Court in Beverley to hear more about the work of the centre and the need for them to relocate to other premises.

Commenting on the visit Graham said, “The Blossom Family is a great project, with lots of indoor space for children to play and be creative. A huge amount of work has gone into getting the project off the ground and the team behind the venture should be congratulated for everything they have done to get the centre open.

“There is currently an imbalance between the cost of running the centre and the money it is making so the management team is looking for a lower cost venue to host the project to reduce the running costs as well as looking at new ways to generate income such as hosting more Children’s parties and fundraising events.

“It is great to see The Blossom Family open and I hope it will begin to gather momentum and continue to provide a brilliant facility for families across Beverley.”

Tanya Kyle-Kitchin from Blossom Family CIC said, “I was great that Graham took the time to come and visit Blossom Family to see for himself the work we are doing here and help to raise the profile of the project. I am determined to keep the Blossom Family running for the benefit of families in Beverley and look forward to meeting new families at our fund raising event on Saturday 12th April”.

“We are struggling to meet the rent for our current premises at Regal Court, although the landlord has reduced the rent until we can find another venue or he finds another tenant. We would be pleased to hear from anybody who could offer us an alternative location for the project. We are also having problems with funding as Beverley is seen as an affluent area with no deprivation and our families are not in need of a centre like Blossom Family.”
