Beverley AC Runners Take On The East Hull Park Run

Last weekend saw the 2nd race in the Beverley AC Handicap race series, points being awarded for improvements in times gauged against previous running times.

For the 2nd year one of the highly popular national Park Runs was included in the series. The run takes place in East Park very Saturday morning. There is a great atmosphere and usually a large crowd of runners of all abilities. The race consists of 3 one mile laps and gives an opportunity for runners to push their speed hard or just to come and sample a group running event, and the nearby cafe is usually well populated for an after run bacon butty or slice of cake, making for a pleasant start to the weekend.

24 Beverley AC members took this park run on. Winner of the handicap was Alison Stabler in 26:26. A new runner to the club, Alison showed how ell her running is improving in topping scores for this race. The fastest Beverley runner was Harry Powell in 17:02, closely followed by in 18:08 and Darren Edge in 18:18.
