With the support of the , Paul won their Charity of the Month competition
for February.

Paul is no stranger to taking up a challenge to raise money for charity having already completed the Coast to Coast cycle ride and rowed the length of the river Thames.

His next challenge however, will push the boundaries even further as he is preparing for a trek across the Himalayas in an attempt to raise thousands of pounds for the Dove House Hospice.

The trek has been compared to climbing Ben Nevis every day but rather than putting his feet up afterwards, Paul will be spending a few days working at a hospice in Delhi to help improve the basic facilities they have.

Paul said;

“Dove House hoped we might raise £60k but we’ve collectively raised over £90k already and are aiming for £100k you can make a donation by visiting this web page.”

Dove House Hospice is a charity that provides care for in the local community with life limiting illnesses. Based on Chamberlain Road in Hull, the Hospice is currently redeveloping the site to provide additional facilities and to increase the level of support given to patients.

“What Paul is doing for the Dove House Hospice is really something to be admired and we as a Society are proud to support local fundraising efforts such as this. We wish Paul the best of luck for his trek and hope that his good work can really make a difference to the Hospice.”

Each month the Society offers the chance for customers to choose from one of three local charities and the winner is awarded with a £250 donation.

The Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month Competition is now in its second year of running and has so far shared a total of £6,500 with charities and groups that support people in the local area.
