The final preparations are under-way for Pocklington man, Brian Watkins, who has set himself the task of climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money for the MS Society.
Brian is planning to ascend the 20,000 feet over 5 days in an effort to raise somewhere in the region of £7,000 for the charity set up to support those living with Multiple Sclerosis.
In November, Brian entered himself into the Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month competition to aid his fundraising efforts. After a month of voting, customers of the Beverley decided that Brian and the MS Society were worthy winners.
January is the second anniversary of the Beverley’s charity of the month competition which has given customers the chance to decide where £6,000 has been donated.
