Locals Gordon Norman and John Rutherford who are members of the Hull Rotary Club are to hold a special event to raise money for two worth whiles causes at Brantingham Park.

All the profits from a Millionaires Dinner and Gaming Evening to be held on the 21st March 2014 will go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Intensive Child Care Unit, at the Bwindi Community Hospital in the rain forests of Southern Uganda.

Gordon said;

“After a recent visit to Uganda John and I visited a baby care unit, they had seven incubator’s but only one was working.”

“Yorkshire Air Ambulance is a critical asset for our region and they deserve our help and support.”

Together with matching funding from Rotary International the Rotary Club of Hull is expecting to raise a large amount for the two charities.

Gordon added;

“We have a chance to raise a lot of money from a small amount, with the match funding whatever we raise will be matched nationally by the Rotary Club and then that amount will be matched again by Rotary International.”

Aid to the Ugandan Child Care Unit will be delivered personally by local Rotarians Gordon and John when they go to carry out voluntary work in the area.

Gordon said;

“When we return to Uganda we will take the donation personally, this means we can guarantee it will get to the children who need it and the Doctors who will use it.”

“The hospital is desperate for the most basic equipment that we take for granted, in order to treat starving and poorly children in this under developed area.”

“Local Companies can be part of this fantastic event by taking a table for the dinner and enjoying a wonderful night of good food and entertainment.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £35 per person and can be purchased by visiting, www.loneoak.karoo.net
