East Riding County Choir will be beginning rehearsals for its new season shortly and are inviting anybody interested in singing some of the world’s greatest choral music with us to come along.
The Choir will be performing Mendelssohn’s Elijah in Beverley Minster on Saturday 3 May, and rehearsals start on Monday 13 January at the Hexagon Centre in Coltman Road, Beverley at 7.30pm.
As ever, the choir would like to encourage more men to join, but at the same time are particularly interesting in recruiting younger members as well.
Why not join as a family? If you are 16 or over, and in full-time education, membership is free; we already have three generations of one family singing in the choir, the youngest of whom is still at school.
Anybody interested in joining the choir should come along either to the first rehearsal on 13 January, or the second on Monday 27 January.
If you enjoy the experience, and would like to become a member, you will be invited to a short audition, just to check that you can sing in tune and that your voice blends in with the rest of the choir (you will need to be able to read music).
