New Racing Season At Beverley Just Weeks Away

Forget about the cold, in just few more weeks it will be time to dig out your best frock and hat as horse racing returns to Beverley.

Earlier in the month tickets went on sale for Ladies Day and other big meetings at the Westwood Course.

Sales of those tickets have been going well according to Beverley Races Marketing Executive Kate McKee, who said;

“We have had a good response and uptake on tickets; the good news is there are still tickets available for the Premier Enclosure.”

This season will also see some changes to the themed nights. Out goes Lucky in Love which is to be replaced with a Evening of Horses, Kate explained;

“We felt Lucky in Love had run its course, an Evening of Horses will switch the focus back to the racing which works well as we have the Hillary Needler Trophy that night.”

A Very British Raceday does remain on the fixture card. This is the meeting that encouraged people to wear red white and blue, and includes the donkey derby. Kate said;

“This was very popular last year. Of course we will have the donkeys back, and at the end of the meeting will hand out song sheets and finish the night off with a big ‘last night of the proms’ style sing-song.

May 5th – May Day Racing
Join Beverley Races for our family themed May Day celebrations. There will be a fabulous card of racing to enjoy, and you can even meet a racehorse. Last race provisionally 5.30pm

May 13th – Afternoon Racing
Beverley Races bring you a full afternoon of racing action at Beverley Racecourse. Last race provisionally 5.00pm.

May 24th – A Very British Raceday
Enjoy cream teas, strawberries and Pimms on the lawn, relax to our resident jazz band, cheer on the naughty donkeys in the Donkey Derby and visit Punch and Judy in the Course Enclosure. You can also join us for a Last Night of the Proms sing-along after the racing in our celebration of all things gloriously British. Last race provisionally 5.25pm.

28th May – Evening of the Horse
Dress up in your finest and join us for one of the most anticipated races of the season, the prestigious Hilary Needler Trophy. You might just see racing’s future star in the making. Last race provisionally 9pm.

June 11th – Afternoon Racing
We bring you a full afternoon of racing action at Beverley Racecourse. Last race provisionally 5.30pm.

June 24th – Afternoon Racing
A full afternoon of racing action at Beverley Racecourse. Last race provisionally 5.30pm.

July 4th / 5th
East Yorkshire’s biggest racing weekend of the year. Expect fabulous racing, great food, music and much more. Last race provisionally 9pm.

July 15th – Afternoon Racing
A full afternoon of racing action at Beverley Racecourse. Last race provisionally 5.00pm.

July 21st – Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival Night
Join Beverley Races on this glamorous summer evening to celebrate all that’s good about Yorkshire racing. Last race provisionally at 9.00pm.

July 29th – Newcomers’ Raceday
Don’t know a monkey from a ton? We’ll chat to you about how to place a bet, show you where to watch the racing from, explain all the jargon and tell you everything a newbie needs to know about Beverley Racecourse. There’ll be plenty of entertainment for the kids, and you can even meet a real life racehorse. Perfect for anyone who’s never been racing before! Last race provisionally 5.40pm.

August 13th – Ladies Day
Ladies Day, newly styled by St Stephen’s Shopping Centre in 2014. Dress up in your most glamorous outfit, soak up the atmosphere of a high society afternoon at the races and get spotted for the Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat competitions. This is the social event to be seen at in East Yorkshire. Last race provisionally 5.20pm.

August 14th – Afternoon Racing
Come and enjoy all the glamour of Ladies’ Day with none of the crowds. Last race provisionally at 5.45pm.

August 24th – Sunday Best Family Raceday
Spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with a picnic whilst watching the racing, listening to live music from Beverley Folk Festival and supping on tasty cask ales from the Wold Top Mini Beer Festival. With plenty for kids to see and do, our family raceday is a great day out for all the family. Last race provisionally 5.40pm.

August 30th – Beverley Bullet Raceday
Our most prestigious raceday of the season showcases only the fastest horses and top quality racing. Our feature race, The Betfred Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes, sees high class thoroughbreds powering up the Westwood at speeds of up to 40mph. Last race provisionally 5.20pm.

September 17th – Afternoon Racing
A full afternoon of racing action at Beverley Racecourse. Last race provisionally 5.15pm.

September 23rd – Season Closer
Join us for our season finale raceday and help us close the racing season at Beverley in true style.
