Beavers Face Daunting Against Huddersfield This Weekend

Huddersfield RUFC are this Saturday’s visitors to Beaver Park for the National League 3 fixture with the RUFC.

Currently lying in second position in the league table, Huddersfield are nursing ambitions for an immediate return to National 2, having suffered relegation at the end of last season.

They have put together some impressive performances this term and Beverley face a big challenge to put a dent in their hopes. Head Coach Anthony Posa commented;

“‘The main reason they came down last season was due to an excessive amount of injuries – something we can certainly empathize with!”

“This season however, under a new coach, with a few new recruits and most of their injured players having returned, it’s proving to be a potent mix.”

Posa continued;

“Having worked with a number of their squad in past seasons through either the Yorkshire 20s or Senior County team, I am fully aware of the quality they bring.”

“Of more concern to me though, is how we perform, and of how we meet the challenge, especially on our own patch.”

So, nothing but respect and admiration from the Beavers Head Coach this week, when he easily could be forgiven with providing excuses.

Already without the long term injured James McKay and , Beverley could be without several more established first team players, making the task even more daunting.

There is underlying feeling though that this squad (those that are still standing), are building into something special, yet again. So maybe, just maybe, there might be an upset on the cards for the home fans to enjoy this week.
