The award means a great deal to us at the Town Council and reaffirms Beverley as a festival town for both residents and visitors alike’

Helen Watson, Town Clerk of Beverley, said ‘The Food Festival first took place in 2006, and has grown and developed annually and is now in its 8th year. It has become a well-established festival and attracts around 30,000 visitors from near and far. It gives a positive boost to the local economy by showcasing a wide variety of quality locally produced food and drink from Beverley’s rural hinterland, along with promoting the excellent offer of local business, retailers, cafes, restaurants and pubs within the town. We are also very proud to be working in partnership with many organisations, community groups and businesses within our beautiful medieval market town.

Mark Farnsworth, master of ceremonies and a director of EYLFN quoted at the awards, ‘Beverley Food Festival has been going for a number of years now and has literally gone from strength to strength. It is best described as local foodie heaven! With over 90 stalls at the event (and nearly as many waiting to join!) they actively promote those closest to the town and ensure a huge range of product choice. They have phenomenal support from a huge cast of talented chefs which, with other entertainment combines to make a first class event’.

The ‘From Field to Table’ local food project has helped to develop the Beverley Food Festival in many different ways over the last two years. is looking for possible sponsorship to fund aspects of the Food Festival. We are also looking for volunteers to help with the events. If you are interested in either, please call 01482 874096 or email clerk@beverley.gov.uk
