RUGBY UNION: Posa Upbeat Ahead Of Stockport Visit

Posa Upbeat Ahead Of Visit Of Stockport

Beavers Head Coach says is very proud of his squad after their fine win away to Championships favourites Sandal last weekend.

With that win Beverley moved up to fifth place in the league table as the Beavers continue to show that they can make an serious impact at level.

Posa speaking about the win ahead of this week’s match said;

“I was an extremely proud coach on Saturday night; to go to Sandal, a side that were unbeaten at home since March ’12, and not only win but get the bonus point is no mean achievement.”

“The key now is for us, as a squad, to keep improving – we have to, as there is another big one this week.’”

Beverley will need to be on top of their game this Saturday as they host third placed Stockport at Beaver Park, a side with ambitions of fast return to division two.

The visitors come into the match with four wins under their belt in a game will not be an easy one for a Beverley side that is missing some players due availability and injury.

Posa however is confident the death and quality of the Beverley squad has enough in their locker to give Stockport a real run for their money, he said;

“This weekend brings another stern test , given a continuance of the favourable weather conditions, a feast of good is in store for the supporters.”

“We have proven our squad has depth before this season and will be looking forward to doing so again on Saturday.”

The last time the two sides met at Beaver Park was back in September 2010 Beverley Fightback But Lose Out To Stockport. It was a game Stockport won by just seven points after Beverley staged a comeback saw the legionary skipper Dave Worrall score two tries.
