The Bread Shed The Bread Shed

Bread is made in The Bread Shed each day from scratch, using the finest flour, water, yeast, sea salt and olive oil to produce bread which has all the flavour, substance, and natural nutritional benefits bread used to have.

Baker Liz Parkin explained;

“Other ingredients include butter, free range eggs, dried fruit, and fresh herbs. You won’t find any bakery aids to improve volume, taste or shelf life.”

They rely on time honoured production methods to do that, and Liz believes that you can really taste the difference!
Nor will you find any bread pre-mixes or part baked frozen loaves.

Everyday different breads are made, including sourdoughs, French styles, and simple traditional breads such as a stoneground wholemeal loaf. The fruit teacakes, baked every Tuesday and Friday afternoon, are proving to be a popular favourite.

Liz, who previously ran The Bread Shed in Cartmel in The Lake District, relocated The Bread Shed in March of this year, to be back in , where she has lived for 14 years.

The Bread Shed is open from Tuesday to Friday, 9.30am to 5pm, and Saturday 9am to 3pm.
