MP Helping To Build Beverley’s Future

Graham Stuart MP

Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart has teamed up with the Jobcentreplus to promote the benefits of the Government’s Contract to businesses in and around Beverley.

The MP will be hosting a breakfast event entitled ‘Building Beverley’s Future’ at Beverley Jobcentre on the morning of Friday 27th September.

Commenting, Graham said,

“Beverley and Holderness has low unemployment compared to the national average and these figures continue to fall, which is great news for the area but we need to do more for youth unemployment and support those Not in , Education or Training (NEETS) to become valuable contributors to the economy.”

“The Youth Contract is a great way for employers to introduce a young person to the benefits and opportunities of work at the same time as bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to their company; I want as many employers as possible to give an hour of their time to come along to the Jobcentre to hear about how they can get involved.”

Stuart Griffiths, Jobcentreplus District Manager North East Yorkshire & Humber said, “We have seen some relatively good movement locally in terms of unemployment recently, but the number of young looking for work remains a concern everywhere. I am delighted that Graham Stuart is hosting this breakfast event for local employers – it will be a great opportunity to let local businesses know about things like Wage Incentive and pre-employment training along with the recruitment service that we can offer to help them recruit a young person that will be an asset to their organisation”

Building Beverley’s Future, breakfast event will take place at Beverley Jobcentre on Friday 27th September from 8.45am.

Businesses wishing to attend should make contact with Wendy Penny at Beverley Job’s Centre on 01482 332802 wendy.penny@dwp.gsi.gov.uk.
